How to Join
Enrollment Process
Advocates enrolled with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and practicing in courts under the GT Bar Association's jurisdiction may apply for membership. Follow these steps:
Bar Council Enrollment
Obtain your enrollment certificate from the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu. This is a prerequisite for GT Bar membership.
Application Form
Collect the GT Bar Association membership application form from the office or download it from this website. Fill in all details accurately.
Submit Documents
Submit the completed form with your BCTNS enrollment certificate, two passport photographs, identity proof, and the membership fee.
Verification
The membership committee will verify your credentials and conduct a brief interview. This typically takes 7–10 working days.
Membership ID Issued
Upon approval, your GT Bar membership ID card will be issued and you will be added to the official member directory.
Member Benefits
Welfare Schemes
Death Benefit
Ex-gratia payment to the family of a deceased member advocate. Applicable to all members in good standing.
Medical Assistance
Reimbursement of hospitalisation expenses for members and their immediate dependents. Up to ₹50,000 per year.
Education Aid
Scholarship for children of members pursuing higher education. Merit cum means basis.
Emergency Loan
Interest-free emergency loan repayable over 24 months. Available to members with 3+ years of association membership.
Senior Advocate Fund
Monthly stipend for members aged 65+ who have been members for 25 years or more and are no longer practicing.
Accident Cover
Group personal accident insurance covering all registered members — death, permanent disability, and medical expenses.
